Description

Services are provided for less than a third of the cost of incarceration

A New Way of Life Re-Entry journey with women through several stages of reentry, providing support and encouragement along the way:

help residents obtain IDs and Social Security cards, apply for public assistance where appropriate, and deal with any outstanding debts, such as child support.
support our residents in court appearances and in meeting the conditions of parole or probation.
support them in their sobriety, helping them find a sponsor and participating in community 12-step programs with them
partner with community-based organizations for their expertise in employment and career development.
for residents who are mothers, they begin the process of regaining custody and/or rebuilding strong, healthy relationships with children.
women can remain at ANWOL for as long as they need to stay, and when theyre ready, they assist in searching for permanent housing.
offer leadership-training programs to help our residents build confidence and leadership skills.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to advance multi-dimensional solutions to the effects of incarceration: We provide housing and support for formerly incarcerated women for successful community reentry, family reunification, and individual healing. We work to restore the civil rights of formerly incarcerated people. We empower, organize and mobilize formerly incarcerated people as advocates for social change and personal transformation.
