Recovery House of Central Florida

Description

Recovery House of Central Florida offers a faith-based and peer-driven 12 step therapeutic community. Our recovery program stresses the importance of self-help which implies that each client is responsible for his own recovery as well as the recovery of his peers.

Recovery House offers a working program that requires a 9 month commitment. Participants work within the program for the first 120 days and receives no income during that time, however all basic needs are supplied. These first 120 days are critical to the recovery process as participants learn a skill and how to work as part of a team. The work they perform helps to support the facility and related overhead costs as well as our sustainability goals.

After 120 days the participant is eligible to obtain gainful employment through our jobs program. The employer must be approved and the job cannot be an obstacle to the clients recovery (i.e. bar, restaurant/lounge etc.). Participants paychecks are deposited into a 'trust' account which can be drawn out on Fridays as needed. Recovery House will monitor spending and will help with budgeting and the development of good financial stewardship skills.
