Basic Needs Financial Assistance
The Salvation Army provides limited financial assistance to low-income households struggling to meet a basic need. Assistance is available up to once per year for applying households and is by appointment only. Individuals interested in applying for financial assistance should call 740-797-1305 Monday-Thursday from 10am-4pm to begin the intake process.
The type of assistance available varies according to fund availability and season, but may include assistance with needs such as utility bills/disconnects, rent, work-related expenses (such as vehicle repair assistance), or other assorted expenses related to a basic need.
All assistance is paid directly to the creditor (i.e. utility company, landlord) by The Salvation Army- we are not able to provide cash directly to the client. If you have additional questions regarding Salvation Army bill assistance, please contact us at 740-797-130.
The Salvation Army is an intake site for Prevent Blindness, a program which provides eligible clients with no-cost eye examinations and glasses assistance (details about eligibility are available on the programs website. To schedule an appointment for an intake contact our office at 740-797-1305.
Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N)
The Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) program is an annual assistance grant available to low-income AEP customers to assist with AEP disconnects. Application period, requirements, and assistance amounts vary each program year, but assistance is generally available mid-winter and mid-summer.
